Case Studies

The below case studies are based on a 6 month beta tester program of over 1100 beta testers.

Case Study 1: Large USA-based News & Information Website

A large news and information website is using CheckDog to check all newly published content for spelling errors. Using the CheckDog scan RSS feeds feature, CheckDog checks new content on an hourly basis for newly introduced spelling errors and notifies via email accordingly.

Blog comments are filtered out using the CheckDog spell checker.

The use of CheckDog has significantly decreased the burden on editors in ensuring that their copy is error free.

Case Study 2: Corporate Information Website

A large company is using CheckDog to conduct an automatic weekly site health check on their content. CheckDog checks all of their corporate website content as well as a frequently updated web-based knowledge-base. The knowledge-base is edited by call centre staff who are usually multi-tasking in a high pressure environment. As a a result the knowledge-base is a source of frequently misspelled words.

CheckDog has enabled the corporate website to easily maintain impeccable error free content despite a huge amount of content being added to the site weekly.

Case Study 3: University Website

A University has a significant number of different websites and microsites on sub-domains within main websites. There are over 50 people responsible for editing the content across all the websites. The University has provided each website editor with a CheckDog account to assist them in keeping their relevant content error free.

The use of CheckDog has provided a simple tool to ensure that the content of the University's website does not detract from the credibility of the institution.

Case Study 4: Fashion Blog

A fashion blog uses CheckDog to automatically scan its content once a month. Although the blog editor uses a "front end" spell checker - they like using CheckDog as an insurance for spelling errors slipping through.

CheckDog has provided the blog editor with peace of mind that embarrassing spelling errors will not remain undiscovered on her site indefinitely.

Case Study 5: European-based Web Development Company

A web development company develops a large amount of websites in English even though they themselves are not English speakers.

They use CheckDog to check all content on clients' websites before launch. They also then schedule a weekly scan on the site to ensure no spelling mistakes slip through.

CheckDog has provided the web development company with peace of mind that all published content on client sites will be error free. This allows them to easily compete with web development companies based in English speaking countries.
